In October of 2024, the night of my book launch for “Tales For Tra-La-La Day,” there was a magical feeling in the air. It was the end of a thirteen-year journey, and my friends and I were dancing and celebrating after I finished the on-line book reading portion of the evening.

While I was dancing, one of my friends came up to me and said, “I have to show you this,” and he held out his daughter’s phone. His daughter, about thirteen years old, had been texting one of her friends, explaining that she was at my book launch with her parents. At first I wasn’t sure what I was looking at, and then my friend pointed out that his daughter’s friend not only knew who I was, but also loved my book series—and my “cool factor” had risen in his daughter’s mind by several points. (BLUE is my friend’s daughter and BLACK is her friend).

This was one of many moments that made the night truly special. I will never forget the smile on his daughter’s face as I signed a copy of my newest book for her friend… and a copy for his daughter as well.
